While working on Sage SalesLogixs Visual Analyzer project for a client, I arrived at the conclusion that there are a lot of SalesLogix users that are unaware of the Reporting abilities that come with a standard SLX implementation. In the next few posts I hope to detail out this easy to use capability and provide some exposure to the content of the SLX standard reports.

In the SalesLogix 7.5 web, you can add a radio group control to allow for selection of options on screen. This control can be bound to either write to a field in the database upon the selection being made or it can be unbound to prompt the user to make a choice that can then drive other on screen actions.

Our client wanted to expand the standard marketing functionality of SalesLogix to include a custom entity for tracking customer testimonials. These testimonials are recorded in a new main and reference the Contact and Account that made the reference. Tracking these testimonials allows users the ability to search through the testimonial list and use them in their marketing or sales efforts. Users may also add new testimonials. The testimonials must be authorized by the source before the client uses them with other clients.
